That Blizzard worked on a sequal to the strategy game Starcraft was already good news, but just some days ago they have even confirmed to bring out another continuation in the RPG Diablo-Series: “Diablo III” – Something which true fans have hoped for a very, very long time and after different types of rumours which turned out into fake-news become disappointed.

But this time its real. Blizzard has already uploaded some cinematic and ingame trailers for both games which let evolve the opinion, that they are not far away from release! Yeehaa!

These astonishing news bring up just one single question…… will there be a Warcraft IV?

But there is a great alternative: a modified Gimp-version called “GimpShop”.

“GimpShop” is based on the powerful linux grafic program GIMP. The only difference with “GimpShop” is, that its menu organisation closely resembles the one of the original Photoshop. Accordingly the feature terminology is adapted. “GimpShop” uses all features the original GIMP-program uses and can be extended by the GIMP-plugins (you can find here) e.g. a HDR plugin.

“GimpShop” aims to help designers feel comfortable with GIMP.

And by the way it also runs under Mac OS and Windows . It is completely free!

Of course KDE is a powerful dektop with many useful, free and mighty programs from music players, finance administrators and games to complex office suites and grafic programs, but WHY wasting energy to port them to Windows?!?!?!?!

In my opinion it would be better to make running Linux even more attractive and easier for non-pc-freaks. Though it already reached this point, it still can be improved.

With “DesktopTwo” you have a linux-based web-operating-system online and can login from any other PC.

The only requirments you must fullfil are:

• a browser flash plugin

• Acrobat Reader installed

• Java installed

• Pop-ups not blocked from a special application

• And of course a pc with internet connection

Not yet? Well it’s one of Googles news project. An Operating System called “Android” for mobile phones such as Symbian on Nokia (what a waste of words to write) or Windows Mobile. Its an OS based on Linux and therefore vastly modifiable!

• OctroTalk you can get here. It supports every Protocol (uses Jabber and Transports based on XMPP – therefore you can also use your googlemail acount.)

• fring you can get here. Good client. Also based on XMPP. But registration is needed :-/

• qip you can get here. Maybe you know the russian PC client. Its also available for mobile phones (and of cause also in english)

• icq wireless you can get here. Momentarily I can not recommand this – it has rather poor features and is instable.

My favorit clients are OctroTalk and qip. But try yourself
